Renal Artery Stenosis

Post a new topicby Guest on Thu Feb 06, 2003 12:50 pm

My Internal Medical doctor diagnosed my renal artery stenosis due to sudden uncontrolled blood pressure. A scan confirmed. I had angioplasty without a stint due to the location of the narrowing. I understand that there are two causes which my doctor could not tell me for sure which caused my problem. My blood pressure was normal after the procedure for several weeks but my blood pressure then started slowly going up. (I am now 4 years from the first occurence.) I am now on a beta blocker and water pill. Question:
Should I be seeing a specialist? (My doctor feels he can take care of this.)
Since this was not stinted, is it more likely that it will occur again?
Is this a life long concern?
Since my doctor won't or can't tell me much I am interested in any and all info. regarding this condition. Thank you, KA
