preeclampsia / kidney damageI had preeclampsia with 5grams of protein, which cleared completely within 6 months that was two years ago. If I get pregnant again am I probably going to get this much again and do you think I would fully recover or have lasting damage to my kidneys next time. Thanks
Re: preeclampsia / kidney damageI had preeclampsia 4 years ago, and delivered my son at 28 weeks. He weighed 1 pound. It has been a real struggle! The Drs say that my chances are slim that it would happen again, but I have now been diagnosed with renal artery stenosis, and wonder if it was not there to offset the preeclampsia. I developed the preeclampsia very early on in pregnancy, 21 weeks, and the Drs always wondered why I got it so early. I had to stay in the hospital until I was nearly ecamptic and then they delivered the baby. Your BP is raised naturally when you are pregnant, and I was only 21 years old. Now I wonder just how much damage is done to my kidneys. After delivery, I knew I still had high BP, but ignored it. I really did not know it was really so bad, until I went in for a sinus infection, and my Dr. expressed alot of concern over my age with high BP and no family history.
